About Us
MyClean was established in 2009
After unsuccessfully using a number of different cleaning companies in their Murray Hill apartment, the future MyClean team, realized that there was a lack of quality cleaning companies in NYC. In addition, most cleaning companies lacked the functionality on their websites to provide price quotes, book appointments online, provide special cleaning instructions and pay by credit card. Thus the idea for MyClean was born!
MyClean was developed with the understanding that our customers always come first. We believe that the secret to success is to hire and train amazing cleaners to make sure the job gets done right the first time and every time we return.
Michael Scharf
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Scharf joined MyClean as Chief Executive Officer in August 2010.
Michael's business savvy and focus on customer service have helped grow the business sevenfold in a little over a year. In that time, he has also led an expansion into the outer boroughs of New York, and developed the MyClean brand into one of the strongest in the city.
Michael's career prior to joining MyClean included five years in the Equity Derivative Division at Banc of America Securities. He worked as an Analyst in both New York and London before taking on an Associate position with the company. From there, Michael was promoted to a Senior Sales & Marketing position where he led a sales team for all structured investments. He transitioned to Weeden & Co. LP in 2009 and spent a year as an Associate in the Fixed Income Division. Growing frustrated with his reverse commute to Greenwich, CT every day and seeing the changing market dynamic for sell side positions on Wall Street, Michael realized that he wanted to leave the corporate world to pursue a more entrepreneurial role. He needed a change and set out to do something with unlimited room for growth. The perfect opportunity came shortly after his return from a two-week trip to Europe when long-time friend Mike Russell, the founder of MyClean, approached him about joining the MyClean team. The new company needed someone with corporate experience who would be able to raise capital and grow the brand. Michael was drawn to the position and hasn't looked back.
Michael attended Claremont McKenna College and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. While at Claremont, Scharf was a member of the NCAA Division 3 basketball team, the Student Investment Club, Entrepreneurial Club and a number of other prominent student organizations and societies. He currently resides in Murray Hill. When he's not at the office, Michael enjoys basketball, tennis, yoga and exploring all that New York has to offer.
Kenny Schultz
Vice President of Operations
Kenny joined the MyClean team in November 2011. Kenny attended Cornell University and NYU law school. After working as an environmental attorney for 9 years, Kenny was looking for a change to a career that he was passionate about, rather than one where he had to fake passion (in litigation).
Kenny recognized the importance of the household cleaning business after his youngest daughter was diagnosed with Reactive Airway Disease (childhood asthma). The doctors told him that dust in his home could potentially exacerbate the condition. It was then that Kenny realized that a professionally (and properly) cleaned home is not just about cosmetics, but is also about general health. In joining MyClean Kenny has found an opportunity to further develop a growing company, and help to deliver an important service to the community in an area that he feels passionate about.
As Vice President of Operations, Kenny has revamped MyClean's business, and has established quality control techniques the ensure the company meets the same standards he would require in his own home. Anyone who speaks with him will instantly hear his passion for his work. He has been an invaluable addition to the team.
In his spare time, Kenny enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is also equally passionate about the Jets and Mets.
